Executive Director

Jake Boldman

Truly a well-versed player, Jake Boldman's trumpet playing spans from big band and latin jazz to Top 40 and Broadway musicals. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he played lead trumpet in the One O’Clock Lab Band and studied with Jay Saunders. During his time at UNT he was an active member of his home town Dallas' music scene. While working on his bachelor's degree, he performed all over the country with big bands, latin groups, party bands, and touring artists like Aretha Franklin. In addition to performing, Jake was also in demand for recording, private lessons, sectionals, and clinics.

After finishing his undergraduate degree, Jake took a year off to teach and perform in Dallas/Ft. Worth. He then had the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in jazz performance from the University of Denver in Colorado where he studied with Alan Hood. Since graduating, he has quickly become a part of the vibrant music scene in Denver where he performs with large jazz ensembles such as the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra and the H2 big band, latin groups Conjunto Colores and La Candela, and is a top call for a variety of shows at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, most notably the Pre-Broadway opening of Disney’s Frozen.
