Auditions

The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra is comprised of volunteer members, and strives to maintain a high level of musicianship among our membership. Formal auditions are required for all new members. Auditions are typically scheduled during May and August for the following season. However, we occasionally schedule individual auditions during our performance season depending on need. We maintain a list of substitutes, so even if a space is not readily available we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in playing with our group.

Auditions include performance of selected excerpts from pieces we have performed in the past, and a solo piece of the auditioning musician’s choice, followed by a brief interview. The audition panel consists of the Conductor, Concertmaster, and Principal from the appropriate section.

Additional Information

The orchestra has an attendance policy; normally, members may miss no more than two rehearsals during each concert cycle.  The orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m., with an additional rehearsal on the Tuesday prior to a concert.

The orchestra rehearses and performs at The Lone Tree Arts Center, located at 10075 Commons Street in Lone Tree, CO.
