Ken played with the University of Washington’s Wind Sinfonietta and with Seattle’s Civic Light Opera as a freshman in college. He graduated from Washington with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Then he obtained his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School (now named Rosalin Franklin University).
Music has always been a large part of his life. As his kids started learning instruments when they were in school, he began to miss playing. Ken picked up the bassoon again in 2013 and played with The Aurora Symphony and The Arapahoe Philharmonic. He was named principal bassoonist of the Lone Tree Symphony in 2014.
He really enjoys being a part of a larger group, playing with fantastic musicians around him, and getting the opportunity to play some terrific music. Ken has also been added to the roster of the World Doctors’ Orchestra and hopes to be able to play with them soon.
Outside of orchestra, Ken enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
